Spring 1 - Lift Off!
This half term we will have a History focus, learning all about Neil Armstrong, Tim Peake and Katherine Johnson as significant people.
In Science we will be learning about humans and their offspring. We will notice that humans have offspring which grow into adults. We will find out about and describe the basic needs of humans for survival. We will also learn about the importance of exercise, eating the right amounts of different food types and hygiene.
We will be creating moon buggies in D&T, focusing on wheels and axles.
In RE we will be thinking about the question 'Why did Jesus welcome everyone?'. We will learn about how extraordinary Jesus is, welcoming everyone as a friend. We will develop our knowledge and understand that Jesus had the power to heal people and perform miracles.
In Maths this half term we will be learning:
- Place Value
- Money
- Addition and Subtraction
- Multiplication and Division
In English this half term we will be focusing on:
- stories by the same author (Simon Bartram
- non-chronological reports
