Great Fire of London
Lesson: History
Class: Butterflies Year: 2022 - 2023
In History we have been learning about the Great Fire of London.
This afternoon we had a great time looking at the differences between how people put out the Great Fire of London in 1666 with no fire service and how we put out fires today.
Firefighter Dave came into to tell us all about how fires are put out now.
Then we went outside to re-enact putting out the fire of London. We filled buckets in the river Thames and passed them along to try and put out the fire. When this didn't work we pulled down the houses. WE SAVED THE TOWER OF LONDON!
Finally as an extra treat the fire engine came so we called all have a go at using a real fire hose to squirt water.
